Join Camp Contact at Burning Man 2026 – Axis Mundi

Camp Contact’s most significant annual gathering takes place at Burning Man, where we come together as a community of dancers who celebrate Contact Improvisation, Embodiment Practices, Authentic Relating, and Circling.

After the worst weather in at least 20 years in 2025, we are back in action! We had a good restructuring year after a rough 2024, and we'll continue at the same pace, with a camp of 100 campers this year!

Our Pod Organizing system has proved itself; our independence from the large hub we were a part of was refreshing, and our scaling down of complexity has served us well!

Let’s come together to create a sustainable, inspiring, and deeply connected Camp Contact for Burning Man 2026 and beyond.

Pods Within Our Camp

Pods are "sub-camps" of a main camp, typically based around a practice, area of interest, geographical area. Or, pods could be a squad, or a group of campers who are typically in another camp,but their camp isn't big enough to have a full presence or bring their gear to a burn. Don't over-think pods -- they are permeable and not meant to be particularly exclusive, they're more a cognitive tool to help understand the organization of camp as a whole. Sometimes pods choose to offer a particular piece of interactivity / special event or meal for camp. If you would like to create a new pod for this event, please contact the camp organizer, listed on the staff page.
